This is rich with irony....poor widdle military:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey told reporters on Thursday that the Obama administrations continued pursuing of diplomatic solutions in Syria has put military planners in the Pentagon in a strategic bind.
Complaining of a lack of focus, he declared that with a clear instruction for regime change, I can build you a plan, and I know how many divisions, I know how many air wings ... it takes.
This is the second time that Dempsey has gone on record to threaten military action. Speaking following the alleged May 25 massacre of over 1000 people at Houla, he went on Fox News to declare, Of course, there is always a military option
it may come to a point with Syria because of the atrocities.
Once again, Dempsey utilised an alleged massacre as a platform for his warmongeringjoining a Republican lobby led by Senator John McCain and Senator Joe Lieberman, a former Democrat, urging the direct arming of the Syrian opposition and US air support.

(37,457 posts)I know President Obama can't micro-manage him and the man has free speech, but last time I checked, President Obama still commanded the military.
I'd pull him into my office for a nice ass chewing, at minimum.

(23,272 posts)by the JCS Dempsey to CIC Obama (saying Obama lacks "focus" .
Its telling that Obama hasn't shitcanned him yet - is it because Obama also sees Syria as a war zone, which will of course inevitably mean a war with Iran? I'd say that war with Iran is what they really want, Syria is just too convenient by half as a thin cover for their real target.
Breathtaking, hideous comments from Dempsey. Bummer.

(23,484 posts)We certainly need more progressives in military leadership. There are very few, which is a function of the unfortunate impacts of the now old, "New Left."
