Transgender flag rises at St. Louis City Hall

"It's a message we're sending that the city is welcoming to everyone regardless of who you love or how you identify yourself," Slay said of the flag, a symbol recognizing transgender people.
By raising it during June, celebrated around the country as Pride month, the city is demonstrating that transgender people are getting the attention they deserve, not only now but throughout the year, Slay said.

I've been, largely, keeping away from the threads surrounding Orlando, with all the negativity, distractions, and lack of discussion of what we need to do, changing the culture surrounding how we treat all minorities and oppressed peoples. I thought a bit of good news is in order, yes, its only symbolic, but symbols matter. Plus I get to plug my city again, so why not?
