1. Only the people who interpret it in a hateful manner makes it a hate book.

Personally I am a New Testament believer not an Old Testament.

In the New Testament there is love.

Jesus expressed his hatred of an entire town.

Cities that neither "receive" the disciples nor "hear" their words will be destroyed by God. It will be worse for them than for Sodom and Gomorrah. And you know what God supposedly did to those poor folks (see Gen 19:24). Matthew 10:14-15

The Jesus I learned about was love thy neighbor as thyself. Everyday we prayed to bless and take care of the unfortunate. I guess the bible I learned was taught to me differently then what you learned.

All the bad stuff was in the Old Testament.

10. You must have missed some parts because everything I mentioned is in the NT

There's just too many verses that betray the idea that all the bad stuff is in the NT so please don't try to pretend I must have learned something that isn't there, because suggesting as much is demonstrably ridiculous. Regardless of whatever you pick and choose to get out of the bible, others will use the same book to pick and choose what they like. People get out of it whatever they want. The pope calls gay marriage the work of the devil. Southern ministers used it to justify a war for slavery while those in the North were using it against slavery. Some use it to justify antisemitism. Others use the bible to justify beating women and children. None of this makes it a hate book. The hate is already in there. All anyone has to do is utilize it.
