2. He is on his way to work

He went to the hospital and was given medication.

Went home on the weekend so he had no security detail which is why he was driving.
Notice how quickly the hacks were ready to shout drugs or alcohol

5. Where did you hear that?

Granted, the first and only time I heard about this was on CBS 'This Morning' with Charlie Rose. But they didn't mention anything about Bryson getting out of the car in the first -or- second accident.

8. Ok, yes. The AP is saying the same thing.

You raise a good question. It does seem kind of strange.

But otoh, I am no medical doctor. Maybe it was a seizure mild enough to affect him in some way, but not completely incapacitating??? I'm guessing that might be possible.

Time will tell, I suppose. Apparently the investigation is still ongoing.

11. Are you assuming he got out to talk with the owner?...

Reporting here says:

The first accident occurred about 5 p.m. on Saturday when a Lexus, driven by Mr. Bryson, rear-ended a Buick stopped at a railway crossing. Three men in the Buick apparently spoke to Mr. Bryson who later drove away, but only after hitting their car a second time. The three called police and followed Mr. Bryson to nearby Rosemead, where the Lexus was apparently involved in another minor accident.

4. Did anyone read the Politico article and comments?
Mon Jun 11, 2012, 09:44 AM
Jun 2012

Just another shoddy piece of work for Politico. It would have been nice had they reported the story AFTER they got ALL the facts about Mr. Bryson's accident. But, of course, that would not be sensational enough. Mr. Bryson had a seizure, Mr. Bryson was obviously ill, yet if you read the comments, you would think that he had been out all night drinking and doing illegal stuff. Politico is one of the reasons why the conservatives are so stupid.

6. This is coming from a Commerce Dept. release.

Though I don't know how the Commerce Dept. could determine the cause of this accident from all the way across the country.

I find it kind of hard to believe that he had a seizure when he got out of his car and talked with the people at the first accident, then got back in his car, hit the other car again pulling out and proceeded to drive on to the next town before hitting somebody else. That doesn't sound like a seizure.

Nice to see that the police did give him a blood test for alcohol, results are pending. If I were to pull the same stunt as Bryson did, I know I would be getting that blood test, nice to see he didn't get special treatment in that regard.

Bryson is connected to Obama and therefore anything that paints Bryson badly reflects badly on Obama and as we know, anything to tear down Obama.

the Secretary needs to be held to the same standard as everyone else. The drug and alcohol tests show that he was. It should be noted that just because it was a medical condition does not necessarily mean the Secretary is in the clear. We have an example of someone at trial for vehicular manslaughter that apparently had a seizure (still TBD at trial). That person did have a prior medical history of such seizures and had been instructed not to drive. All I have heard leads me to believe that is not the case for the Secretary, but we will need additional information. Leaving the scene of the first accident is troubling.
