2. New post-Brexit poll in the UK shows 7% of Leave voters regret their vote; 60% overall want

a general election before the UK files the Article 50 to formally start the withdrawal process.

The results of the poll found 7% of Leave voters now regret their decision, and a clear majority, 60%, believe there should be a general election before Article 50 is invoked and negotiations begin with the EU.

A third say immigration controls should be the number one issue but 37% insist staying in the single market is the most important factor.

It will be interesting to see if this poll result is duplicated in future polls by other polling organizations.

AFAIK, the Conservatives have no intention of calling for a general election. They don't have to since there was one last year. If the sentiment in this poll is accurate, at least the Tories will have to tread lightly.

7. As with Greece, Britain will stay in the EU despite all the citzens voting to escape.

I knew nothing much would come from the vote. It's not like Greece and Britain are democracies.

8. I don't see how they stay in the EU. Conservatives will remain in power since

they don't need to call a new election. Their party will appoint a new prime minister in a few months and all their candidates are gung-ho about leaving the EU as they should be since it was elements in their party to pushed for and won the referendum.

I suppose if the Conservatives got over-confident and called for a new election and Labour won on a Remain platform that would do it but that scenario seems really unlikely.
