Philando Castile was, and that he was appalled that no one tried to administer first aid to him -- that instead they were busy ministering to the officer who had shot him.
I'm surprised and impressed with how honest Dayton is being.

(3,660 posts)I lived in MN for a while and was pulled over in Roseville just a few miles away. The encounter was essentially this:
"License and registration please"
"No problem but I need to tell you I have a license to carry concealed and I have one on my belt on my left side"
"OK. Don't go anywhere near yours and I won't go near mine"
"No problem"
I have no idea if the driver reacted worse than I did in Falcon Heights but the cop sure as hell did

(16,974 posts)entertainers, sportsmen, soldiers and public servants. But on a person-to-person basis, black men are targets. If white people, including cops, appreciate the effort of singers, football players, their fellow soldiers or their fellow police officers, and their elected officials, then why the hell do they keep shooting black citizens of their towns?
If it is poor training, then police training all over the U.S. needs to be changed right now. If it is a matter of more and more white men with guns shooting a black man because they hate President Obama, then the vetting process for getting accepted into police academy needs to be tightened up. I don't want to stereotype cops, but there are too many badly trained people with poor skills employed to protect us, and that means all of us. Prayers for the survivors.
