Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry suffers heart attack on stage

Legendary Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was rushed to the hospital in the middle of his band Hollywood Vampires‘ show in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sunday night (July 10). CBS 2 NY reports that Perry is in critical but stable condition, and had to be moved from Coney Island Hospital to another facility.

The New York Post is reporting that Perry apparently suffered cardiac arrest and had to be revived by police on the scene.

Perry can be seen in video footage (below) sitting on a drum riser and playing guitar before walking offstage. He apparently collapsed and was rushed to the hospital at that time. Hollywood Vampires is an all-star band that features Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. Cooper told the crowd, “If you notice one of our brothers is not onstage with us, he was very sick before the show.” The band continued to play, apparently not realizing the extent of Perry’s condition.

I'm a big fan of Alice Cooper and am aware of who the original Vampires were. The new album is outstanding.

I imagine he can be easily replaced for he rest of the tour since they're doing covers, but this is unfortunate for him and the fans. Hope for a full recovery.

Hopefully he can be recruited for duty. There are others, but that'd be my pick.

I don't know how long it would take to run through the covers on the CD, but Walsh is a quick study. The show must go on and Coop has a substantial Rolodex.
