Not unlike some did during the Civil Rights marches in the sixties. In fact the parallels are hauntingly similar. I remember the same Wallace, tea party like groups calling those who took part in the Civil Rights marches as being "just a bunch of trouble makers"
What makes it worse today is you have networks like fox spewing that garbage to their "true believers"

And the media at the time was only too happy to convey that message.
