Idiot Son is still a boorish lout and a terrible example of a US President.

At the national anthem and the presentation of colors he had to be nudged by Laura to put his sorry fucking hand over his sorry black heart.

He is now giving remarks at the ceremony and has that same fucking smirk on his simian fucking mug.

To attend the event. He's a shameful disgrace who did nothing positive while he was President and has done absolutely NOTHING since leaving office. To his credit, at least he hasn't participated much in Republican politics since leaving office but that's probably because they are all so embarrassed at him.

No or little restraints - I can just imagine what is going on now. Wouldn't surprise me if in the near future we hear about a liver transplant need.

I'm not a cruel person and am as such certainly not wishing that on him.. but given his alcohol abuse and the documented diminished ability to articulate over his eight years in office, I have to think he is at high risk.

It is ironic that as horrific as his Presidency and the destruction that remained in his wake, that in comparison to Trump, Bush* might well reap the benefit of "softened" perceptions among the public.

If that's what they're reduced to, how can anyone hold them in any level of esteem?

He is possessed of an impetuous nature--I wouldn't be surprised if he endured a concussion or two in his lifetime.

He really did look rather awful...kind of bloated and disheveled. He would have done well to slap on a bit of TV makeup to reflect the worst of his ravages off his face.

with your thread title, I don't put my hand over my heart for the anthem or presentation of colors.

It's not evil to not be patriotic. Nor is it disrespectful.

That, and I'd love for the connotation for the words "black" and "dark" to evolve away from the negative.

The flag, the anthem, the government, the nation...they aren't sacred. They are simply a reflection of the people. Sometimes the best that we are, sometimes the worst, and always a combination of both. I have no use for propaganda, and no use for rituals created to control the masses.

That's what politicians do. GWB, though, has always been sub-par in every kind of performance.
