It's kinda funny... "The coup FAILED? IT'S FAKE!" Consider the number of failed coups in history.

If it's a coup, it doesn't necessarily have the support of the general population, and that's why most of them fail in the first place.

False flag? No. Poorly planned and not supported by enough people? Probably.

keep in mind that most people are incompetent at what they do. So a failed coup is highly believable.

the second largest military in NATO after the U.S.?

We're not talking about some tiny country with a tiny and inept military here.

In any case, those of us who are skeptical are not skeptical only because it failed. There are many things about this "coup" that seem fishy.

However, NATO is not a tiny group of powerless countries, so my point still stands.

Arrest him first. Don't give him the opportunity to go on TV/Social Media while it's going on.

I can understand terrorists bombing his hotel, but if this is the military, why wouldn't they just go in and arrest him?

Some bungling members of Soviet parliament attempted to remove Gorbachev. They barely managed two days before giving up. Basically the big winner was Boris Yelstin, who achieved folk hero status for standing up against the coup.

People are far, far to fast to say something is a false flag event, or planned to fail or some such nonsense. Why can't it just be that these guys got their time wrong, their planning too optimistic? Plus, coups fail, just as Tommy_Carcetti has reminded us.

Hell, just think about all the failed attempts to kill Hitler.

Plus, while I don't actually own a TV, so I'm dependent on going to various news websites to see what they are saying, it's clearly not over at this point. However it will end.

I enjoy reading the false flag conspiracy threads, and just to fuel those I will mention that the four coups since Turkey joined NATO were all successful.

Early reports were the coup was winning so anyone against the Turkish president probably came out of the shadows then bam the coup failed and they have everyone who would have opposed him and his plans.
