The reason republican voters voted for trump

I have heard many reasons why republican voters nominated trump. None of them make sense. The real reason they voted for trump is because, It's their nature.

Republican voters have a long history of voting against their best economic interests. They wreck their way of life. They vote to keep themselves down economically. Every election working class republican voters vote to give the rich giant tax cuts. They vote against raising the minimum wage and against their own right to organize. Thats like voting against your right to breath. Every election millions of republican voters who belong to unions vote to destroy their unions. There are no excuses for self destruction.

If you go back around 90 years to herbert hoover. The republican voters have elected 6 different presidents. 3 of the 6 (50% )were catastrophic failures. They wrecked the lives of tens of millions of americans and wrecked the country. Hoover, great depression. Nixon, the only president who had to resign. Bush2, 2nd biggest economic collapse in history. He will go down as one of the worst presidents in history. The history of the republican voter is a american tragedy.

We should not be surprised they voted for trump who will fail if he becomes president. It's their nature.

There will be evil politicians willing to sell those things to fearful and hateful people.

Bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US will never happen. Take a look at our age demographics, need anymore be said. Yes,we can do manufacturing here and it will require a massive Educational upgrade to our Populace. Until we Dems gain the House of Representatives, don't bet the farm.

Countless articles have -correctly, IMHO- explained the rise of far right populists

The white working class has been squeezed by globalization and left out of positive quotas. Even harassed for 'white privilege' while they were losing their jobs to immigration.

When white working class folks are abandoned by progressives (like cops routinely dissed by activists who feel good only when they side delinquents), these white working class folks end up voting for far right populists: Brexit, Pegida, Le Pen, Trump, etc..

Time to refocus the Democratic Party on fair wages and health care for all, not just minorities

Vote against their own best economic interests. Period. A lot of what they are complaining about they voted for. I laugh when i hear a far right populist complain about all the factories and companies that moved to china and mexico. They vote every election to give giant tax breaks to the people that move those companies overseas. This has been going on for decades.

Trump is also saying build a wall to keep the Mexicans out.
He's very rich (supposedly) and they think that he will make them rich somehow.
He's boldly outspoken compared to any of the other candidates they saw as boring and "low energy".

One can lose one's job, be boycotted or become a pariah in a lot of this country now for openly expressing racist opinions. Social media and increased awareness are slowly changing the rules of the game (thank goodness). But someone coming along and saying, even if in coded language, what you really feel, is a powerful thing indeed.

12. Goes back to white sharecroppers being pitted against free blacks

The white sharecroppers identify with the wealthy plantation owners more than the black laborers with whom they share much more than they would ever admit.

They really think that someday they are going to be sitting up on that veranda drinking mint juleps with the gentry, so they will protect that way of life until the end.
