First of all, we will set the rules...

We do not take sides. We give each side equal time. We do not worry ourselves with what they are saying. They may be lying? Or they may say horrendous, outlandish bullshit? It is not our job to call them on it. It is the voters that will decide. If they are good citizens and good Americans, we trust they will have the wisdom, to go with their brain and gut, and will vote in the best interests of themselves and their fellow citizens.

A large part of advertising revenues are made during the length of campaigns. We have a special need, as a corporate media, to pay for our advertising space, and our reporters, and newsmen. We try at all times to keep the horse-race going, by using reputable polls, that show the race is tied or very close. Then, on election day, the people will vote with all their ignorance and glory.

But, campaigns are a life-source for us. We cannot just talk about important things. Who are we to decide what is important and what the people might need to know? We are the media. We are fair and balanced.

...march the media class out of Washington at gunpoint to reeducation camps in the Blue Ridge mountains, and teach them an honest trade. They are absolutely as useless as the courtiers at Versailles were.

I figured this out a long time ago and am somewhat surprised that more have not. This is the reason I am not following the general election on TV at all and at anytime there is a major incident such as Nice, Dallas, Baton Rouge, St. Paul, Orlando...... I make absolutely sure the TV "News" is immediately turned off. In today's world one cannot completely avoid the news, but one can limit the amount of endless blathering by talking heads that offer no real information but simply their opinions.

That is to make money.

They are not necessarily interested in informing anyone.

This is why we need campaign finance reform...
