I did fair amount of corporate public speaking. At one point, I spoke to a group of about 6k line with another 60-70k world wide via video. It was in my first language on a topic I knew inside/out. And I was pants sh*tting scared. Not nervous but full blown breath into the bag scared and it was only 10 minutes on something trivial in the grand scheme of life.

The tech guys were like "yeah - this happens to everyone who does this meeting". LOL

So I guess I cut her some slack on this one from personal experience.

so yes I agree with everything you said. If you are not at least a little bit nervous going into a formal public speaking situation, there is something wrong with you.
