Stepping back for a bit about Melania: who do you think is responsible?

Do you think it was she who lied about her degree or did she go along with the lie that Yammie concocted?

Do you think it was she who "dropped those lines from Michelle's 2008 speech" into her own or was it all concocted by some handler (at Manafort's direction), leaving her to (most likely) unknowingly deliver them on the world's stage?

I think, in both cases, she is not the originator of the problems. I also think she knows full well the company she keeps and is, in that sense, fully responsible for what has been said.

They can't fire anyone because there is next to no one in the actual campaign.

Willie Geist showed back up and said that Trump won't apologize and will blame the media.

There is no "babe in the woods" her...she either engineered this as part of a pending divorce case or he allowed it to happen and is allowing his wife to be humiliated as a result.

Either way, by November, this is an ex-couple and THAT would be a massive issue for a presidential candidate to be going through a nasty, nasty divorce on the campaign trail.

They are making this much worse by the hour...

If Michelle Obama had stolen someone else's speech, no one in the media would be asking who is responsible--they'd be telling us that the FLOTUS is a thief.

I can't see a speechwriter doing that unless it's an intentional act of sabotage. Whoever did it googled Michelle Obama's speech, and cut and pasted. Any speechwriter would know they would end up getting caught. Maybe she didn't realize it.

The logo was a disaster. Anyone with eyes in his head could have seen the problems with it. Same with the speech.

Jason Miller is a communications guy hired in late June 2016. He is a long time Republican operative and supported Ted Cruz. Could it be him?

Her speech. She said it. She is responsible for what comes out of her mouth

like much of the rest of the campaign being done on the fly.

A bunch of ideas and piece of speeches were gathered together.

She probably picked out some she liked for the speechwriter to put into some organized form.

He thought that piece was something she wrote rather than something she liked.

It was thrown together so fast, no one really copy-edited it, much less Melania who had more important things to do.

Like much of the Trump campaign I think it was just a throw together mess.

Who else would have an ego big enough to think they'd get away with it?

A professional speech writer wouldn't dare...or if he did dare and it was an act of sabotage Trump would be all over that. He relishes the role of victim. The tweets would be flying already.

A staffer wouldnt have the balls to try and get away with something like that.

His kids? They wouldnt sabotage Melania knowing it would tarnish the family name she shares with them.

This was Trump. And he can't fire himself.

Melania Trump was just paying homage to her birth and upbringing in a Communist country: From each (Michelle Obama) according to her ability (to write her own speech) to each (Melania Trump) according to her need (to read words off a teleprompter). Besides, as Paul Manafort is telling us this morning, it's all Hillary's fault, even though Melania didn't do anything wrong!
