Trump left Cleveland during the convention?

Did I hear that correctly that his message to the RNC was from Trump Tower?

So he is flying back and forth? (Pay attention donators - you have just paid for his flights back and forth.) But the delegates at the Convention - save perhaps those who live in Ohio - have disrupted their lives to fly to, stay at, and attend the Convention daily.

The daily events are so unimportant to Trump? Or perhaps his business interests are so demanding that he can't be gone for more than a day or two (what does that say about his lack of availability to be President - part time?)

Though reading the actual author of 'Art of the Deal' it is more likely that his tiny attention span (10-15 minutes on one topic, and then becomes agitated) makes something like attending the full Convention would make him visibly on edge - bored and agitated. That is - he can't tolerate days of GOP speeches on GOP policies. Let that sink in.

Interesting. Also - it is very bad optics: "Why is he not in Cleveland?"

It was unusual for him to be there on the stage last night.

recent reading into past conventions - got me back to the era of brokered conventions. Think that has colored my view - as then the candidate needed to be nearby in order to respond to the changing conditions (as in needing to rally delegates, or make deals with other candidates (or non candidates) to announce a running mate to try to seal the deal with delegate voters.) Guessing that the recent readings were in my mind when that statement was made (that his message was from Trump Tower) struck me so wrong. But eras change.

It'd be unheard of. Trump is already going against norm.

David Duke blames Melania's plagiarism on 'Jewish media insiders'

There have been a handful of responses from Donald Trump's supporters to explain away Melania Trump's evident plagiarism of Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic convention speech, but former KKK leader David Duke's explanation may take the cake. Unlike Chris Christie, he doesn't deny that Malania took "five or six common quotes out of Michele Obama’s Demo convention speech just a few years before," but he squarely blames her speechwriters. Or, as he put it on his website, a "Jewish neocon speechwriter" at "a vicious corrupt lying Zio Media."

Duke wrote:

This is a con job, sabotage, political character assassination plan from the get go! Also, it seems as though the operative set up Melania, by leaking it to other Jewish media insiders who repeatedly asked her about the speech before she gave it prodding her to suggest that she came up with most of it but was helped a little by the speechwriter. I would bet a gefilte fish that this was sabotage. I would also bet a bagel it was orchestrated by an Israel Firster who wanted to damage the American Firster. [DavidDuke.com]
