tomorrow. TS Darby and moderate to strong tropical storm is in line to cross the northern end of the island of Hawaii then track south of Mauii and just offshore north of Oahu Sunday.
It shows slight weakening in terms of dynamic weather conditions but may suffer a severe blow if it tries to cross the twin
13,000+ peaks of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea. If the storm crosses the far north part of the Big Island it will suffer less severe impact and maintain its strength better.
In any event it will be very wet and windy for most islands at some time during the next few days. If you are flying into Honolulu this Sunday you might have a bumpy ride.

(67,413 posts)d...kinda wierd if its going to turn its going to have to turn sharp right to make the projected path. water north of the islands is 26 degrees and just to the south transitions to 27 degrees which would add strength to the storm if it went south,
