Melania did not want trump to run for president. She didn't want to give a speech. I'm betting that dickhead got her to go along with using one of his imaginary friends to write the speech. Then the campaign tried to throw her under the bus and the bucket of rancid potato salad of a husband didn't defend her. Young Barron only has a fleeting relationship with his corn stalk embellished father. The little prince has to watch his cheesey poof infested father fawn and feel up the more important kids.

Kids are off limits in campaigns.

There's enough about Trump to critique without having to bring young Barron into the narrative.

IMO.

Especially Eric and Donald Jr.

So I'd say their actions are fair game for critique.

And IMO they give off as untrustworthy a vibe as their dad does.

the shrug-off reflects on Donald. I think Barron probably resents how his father treats his mother.

I'm at a loss here...

Don the Con is ripe with fruit for political critique. I still say leave the comments about the kid out of it.

What if Barron is slightly autistic and doesn't want to be touched for that reason? There could be many reasons for his reactions to his father's touch.

Personal ethics and basic humanity should prevail.

(like trashing a 10 year old child publically) you will get shamed. Or hidden. Or both. Not saying this particular comment rose to that, but there actually rules on DU and some things are out of bounds.

Look at how the adult Romneys were reacting. They were charmed by that moment, too. They knew what kind of man Romney was running against. Too bad they didn't have the decency to admit it.

and it wasn't about Obama's talent as a politician as much as just the type of person he is and how that naturally connects with others even without things like the speeches.

I don't care who his father is, or how rich his family is. Until he hits adulthood, he should be OFF LIMITS.

I remember when Rush Limbaugh put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton as the "White House dog." One of my 3 college roommates used to watch Limbaugh's show and I saw it. If I had the ability to jump through the screen, wrap my hands around his neck, and choke that fucker to death, I would have done it at that moment. God, I was so angry, because kids should be off limits. I've wanted to do the same thing to trolls who have said nasty things about Sasha and Malia.

While this thread has not risen to that level, I don't think we should be in the habit of targeting Barron for any reason. I feel bad for the kid. That should have been a really exciting moment for him and something was obviously disturbing him.

I feel bad for him for multiple reasons, think there's a good chance he won't grow up to be an asshole - I think he probably sees very clearly and resents how his father treats his mother. The shrug-off of Donald is a comment on Donald, not Barron.
