'He Has Been A Very Good President'

A former chairman for the West Virginia Democrat Party says it's time for Democrats to go on the offensive on behalf of President Barack Obama.

"He's unpopular because there's been a vacuum," George Carenbauer said of President Obama's low approval numbers in West Virginia.

"There has been just a lacking of a response to criticism by the Republican Party and no countervailing argument saying, 'No.'"

He is an admitted enthusiastic supporter of the President and, he says, other West Virginians should be too. "He has been a very good President. He's very forceful. He's been a good Commander-In-Chief. And it is irreconcilable in my mind to say that he's been bad for West Virginia," he said.

"I think the Democrats should be on the offensive for the President, not on the defensive. We've been on the defensive for two and a half, three years now," Carenbauer said on Wednesday's MetroNews Talkline.
