in this case, President Barack Obama, was the de facto "head" of that party, although the chair obviously handled the day-to-day operations.

he has way more pressing things to handle by the time he leaves office (like a government that needs an appropriation for fiscal year 2017 by September 30 or we shut down)...

Donald Kaul's "Over the Coffee" column in the Des Moines Register pre-Gannett many election cycles ago.

as in Bernie voters who now have "proof" there guy was never supposed to win. Those voters can decide an election and hopefully Bernie can help them rise above the fray and realize the stark choices.
