Stand your ground defense in Texas has resulted in guilty verdict.

Jurors have convicted ex-firefighter Raul Rodriguez of murder in the shooting death of a teacher during an argument over loud music. Texas Penal code defines loud noises, etc of around 85 decibel will result in first visit by law enforcement and a citation in the second visit, not a death penalty. This needs to send a loud message to all who thinks grabbing a gun to enforce their thoughts can result in conviction.

doesn't cut it. You also have to demonstrate that there was a CREDIBLE threat to cause that dreadful "fear".

I hope he sis in a jail for a long time.

I'll bet he believes that's why he found himself with a guilty verdict.

The idea that marching onto somebody's property and waving a gun around is "standing your ground".

4. Good, using his gun to take care of a situation was idiotic

to say the least. And his actions took the life of another human being who was here on this earth providing an education to children. It's unfortunate that Rodriguez chose the route he did, but he did and now deserves to be treated as a murderer.

it's not over yet. the TX appeals court is likely very NRA/SYG friendly. Good on the jury though.
