LOUISVILLE, Ky. A Kentucky museum where dinosaurs roam the biblical Garden of Eden is unveiling a national billboard campaign featuring the popular prehistoric reptiles.
The cartoon billboards for the Creation Museum are appearing in several cities including Chicago, San Francisco and Houston and feature colorful dinosaurs drawn in a vintage comic book style.
The popular attraction in northern Kentucky that opened in 2007 has drawn controversy and thousands of visitors with exhibits that challenge evolution and present the Old Testament's creation story.
Dinosaurs are at the center of campaign because they get the public's attention, said Ken Ham, founder of the Christian ministry Answers in Genesis.
"People love dinosaurs," Ham said. "Whenever a dinosaur exhibit comes to town, people are fascinated by that."

(27,787 posts)That was his response when asked what they fed the dinosaurs, and who cleaned up the tons of dino poop.
He clearly had me ... "they only took the eggs".
So then I asked "How do you tell the sex of the dinosaur inside the egg?" He didn't know.

(5,105 posts)I wuvved 'em as a kid, as long ago (never you mind) as that was.
T-Rex, Brontosaur, all of 'em. Didn't know the term "raptor" till the "Jurassic" series.
Kids will see these and BEG to see them in person, where they will be indoctrinated with the same bullshit that led me to hide my nature in shame, constantly watch my body movements, force myself to look at and judge girls on their "hotness" (and always get laughed at--"HER? You must be joking!" and ultimately consider suicide but, conveniently for the churchies, an unforgivable "sin."
The message is: "conform, at least in public, or suffer. Believe, if you can believe the unbelievable. If you don't, shut the fuck up about it, or suffer even worse, in this life as well as the next. Now, get on yer knees and take care of this for me."

(2,252 posts)...that dinosaurs and humans coexisted.
In the museum there is an exhibit of an Allosaurus skeleton encased in matrix. Clearly visible in the intestinal region of the dinosaur are a Homo sapiens skull and other fractured human bones with scars suggesting mastication by the saurian. Beside the human bones there are remnants of what is apparently a leather purse. Inside the leather purse are several bright, shiny Lincoln head pennies clearly bearing the date 3988 BC.

(18,733 posts)If you are accepting of an omnipotent Creator of the universe, then why cannot the Creator bring forth life and give it the ability to evolve over time?
I fully intend to ask Him/Her when we meet, 'why make it so difficult to understand' but I suspect the answer has something to do with Her/His sense of humor.

(18,733 posts)true. It is why we call it faith.
Once we get to the other side, and please forgive my hubris of assuming I will reach reward rather than punishment, I hope there is opportunity to ask questions.

(21,925 posts)It was explained to me by a religious fundamentalist as the reason why evolution cannot be accepted. If humans evolved from animals then at one point they didn't have a soul and the soul itself would have had to evolve.

IMO when we evolvedto the level of self awareness and reasoning, that is when we were imbued with a soul.
Genesis summarized this with Adam and Eve. No conflict if you are willing to accept Genesis as allegory rather than literal truth.
