US drone strike kills 3 people near Afghan border, Pakistani officials say

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone strike has killed three suspected militants in an attack on a building in a town close to the Afghan border.

The strike on Thursday in Miran Shah in North Waziristan was the second in the region in less than 24 hours.

The officials say the identities and nationalities of the men killed were not known. They didn’t give their names because they were not authorized to speak to the media on the record.

Washington has pushed on with its drone campaign against suspected Taliban and al-Qaida operatives in Pakistani tribal areas, despite Pakistani objections.

So, three more people have been slaughtered by a drone based on suspicion and no trial whatsoever.

Does it matter whether it'll be proven that the slaughtered were in fact "militants"/"terrorists" or is it only important that people suspected of being "militants"/"terrorists" are slaughtered in the name of democracy/freedom/safety/etc.?
