I think he divorced #2 in 1999 - after he met Melania but before the rumored 2001 marriage so she could stay in the country.

I wonder if they might have had a legal marriage in 2001 but didn't really think it was going to last so didn't publicize it, then it got more serious. She had Baron in March 2006 - when she got pregnant, Trump may have wanted a public ceremony so there would be no question about his son's legitimacy.

Interesting article from New York Times ..... Trump started this in 2011 for wedge issue for 2012 elections which he dropped out of . Sounds like he dropped the whole idea when officials at NBC had concerns with his show and ratings . Don though.......
