Can everyone do me a little favor this year?

No debates about the atomic bombings.

I do know we all have opinions as to who was in the right and who was in the wrong, but all we do is snarl at each other.

Let's just remember *ALL* the victims, the Japanese, Americans, (yes, American POW's died there too,) all of them.

We can help others better understand those terrible events. It was here at DU years ago as a result of just such a discussion that I was made to more clearly understand the true history of the bombings.
It is also here, and elsewhere that I have had an effect on the views others.

Avoiding talking about something, especially something so monumental, is a terrible approach to better understanding and avoiding such mistakes.

For those who may simply be ignorant of the facts that show how unnecessary the bombs were I refer you to the book,

However, just as in the other hammer-and-nail "debate" that goes on here regularly, over time I've gotten real tired of the same people singing the same two goddam tunes over and over and over again.

I'm predicting a liberal use of my trash thread option over the next couple of days.
