A Trump loss is almost as dangerous as a Trump win

Trump has planted a time bomb by telling his voters that the election is "rigged." We have already seen that many of them do not hesitate to use violence against anyone who disses their "fuhrer." Imagine what they will do if/when he loses the election.

I really don't know how far they'll go beyond loud, rowdy protests with lots of exploding heads. But given the irrational nature of many of his backers, we may see much worse. It's reasonable to assume that many of these people have closets full of weapons and are probably willing to use them in some unpredictable way.

The only good news I can see is that Trump won't be anywhere near the nuclear codes and won't get to appoint anyone to the supreme court.

The bad news is that things could get very ugly in the streets of America for the foreseeable future.

Trump loses:

He won't have his finger on the nuclear button. That isn't the "only good thing."

He won't create a worldwide recession, by removing 11 million US consumers, starting a trade war that will cause inflation and high interest rates, and increasing the debt by trillions to mainly help the wealthiest.

He won't harm US security by damaging relations with other nations through insulting world leaders, encouraging Russia to take over neighboring nations, undermining US strategic bases, undermining NATO, building walls, and turning moderate Muslims against America by "bombing them and taking the oil," torturing, killing terrorist families and treating Muslims like third-class human beings.

He won't divide America based on religion, ethnicity and place of birth.

The rowdy, racist element in America need to have a clear message: You do not represent American values. America is better than Trump.

Expect the establishment to side with Clinton on that one. They want 2020 to be a normal election, and it starts by making clear that Trump and co are not legitimate. They will be more than happy to talk about that.

Far too many elected Republicans are keeping their mouths shut and hoping for the best. Time to put conscience, morality and plain human decency ahead of everything else.

Oh, sorry. I guess I just went off the deep end there. After all, I'm talking about Republicans here.

The number will be the difference between "mentally ill loner who did drugs and had no job" that we'll hear several times and Aryan Al Qaeda.

Hopefully, it will all fizzle out before any of that happens, maybe there will be some new reality TV show these nutjobs will get fixated on.

opponents in all the polls he never once spoke of "rigged elections". Now he is in the general and his polling numbers are abismal. The race is over three months away and he's already writing the phoney obituary on his potential loss. His timing for these lamentations is premature and calls into question his credibility in these matters.

Rigged elections is what CONservatives do and when they aren't successful in their endeavours projection is their default stance.

Watching any Trump rally (for the minute or so you can endure watching it) there are plenty of people there who don't look "old."

No one can predict what another person will do, but the violence in Trump's crowds is visible, caught on camera, and urged on by him.

I hope that the election ends peacefully. But that's hard to imagine given the ignorance and hostility of the Trumpites. And there is no doubt he'll pour gasoline on any bush fires that get started. This is who he is. This is what he does.

to every nation on the planet. We probably will see some of his skinhead followers commit violence after he loses. On that I agree, the fringe right will go bonkers.

They've needed something to smash for decades due to their slow build up of self-loathing. The Tea Party was just an escape valve.

Trump will go bonkers too, pretending outrage all the way up till his court dates.

Assuming Hillary wins (and that assumption's looking safer and safer lately), the flip side of campaigning is that we need to be ready to tell the nation, and the Drumpfucks "We won. We have a mandate. Respect it, or get shoved aside." And if they get violent, I'm all for bringing in law enforcement and the big guns, and dropping the hammer on them with no remorse. If it means a Waco, so be it.

I've worried about Obama's safety for the past eight years. And now Hillary. It never seems to go away. Perhaps it's an echo from the 60s (JFK, Martin, Bobby).

This is something that we should never even have to think about. Yet, it's always there.
