what if that person spent the $100million to help feed the hungry here in the USA?
Or spent $100mil to help improve our public schools?
Or use that $100mil to provide scholarships for needy children?
Or used that $100mil to provide health clinics for those who cannot afford healthcare.
I saw on the homepage of DU about some guy wanting to spend $100,000,000 to defeat Obama. Can't remember his name and honestly, that's how history will remember him - a nameless person who felt he'd rather spend it on an election then actually using it to help others.
Matthew 25:45 says And he will answer, 'I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.'
A person who would rather spend $100,000,000 on defeating one person in an election than to help hundreds of thousands of people in this country - well their name will never be remembered after they pass away. All that wealth wasted when it could have been used to do good in this country. If there is a hell surely this person will spend eternity there.

Hell is much more of an abstraction to them than money.

(95,337 posts)That's what is really sad.
Then I'll remind folks of Matthew 19:24 - I'll say it again--it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!"

(100,096 posts)And to prove it - they're now able to spend obscene amounts of money (fuck you Citizens United ) in an effort to kick out the one guy who's actually trying to help us in favor of a soulless empty vulture capitalist who has no regard for us. In the last decade the uber rich have continually abused their privilege and they pay no taxes. It's time to end the free ride and their reign of terror if you ask me.
