General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAs reported on CNN, according to polls today Trump is behind in every battleground state
The closest is a +2 for Clinton in Iowa (although other polls have her up closer to 6 and 8 points). He has double digit negative margins elsewhere. His getting clock cleaned in North Carolina. In fact, NC is looking very good for Dems with the governor and senate races way up for the Dems.
Utah is still close. So is Georgia.
It is a truly amazing electoral map.
Larry Sabato has been calling for a minimum of about 350 EVs for Clinton and just today said it would not surprise him to see her top 400.
Think about that.
Our part is to MAKE SURE it happens. Phone bank, work the polls. Walk neighborhoods. The STC family is doing it already.

(61,622 posts)If Democrats assume that Hillary will win and don't bother to vote, then disaster falls.
It's also essential to get Democrats elected to the House, Senate, and at the state level - governors and state legislatures.
Time to take back our country.

(81,860 posts)But if Utah is a battleground state, Trump is DOA.
For Hillary to hit 400 she needs every swing state plus UT, GA, SC, and an elector from NE.

(3,789 posts)If they had any common sense(which they don't), he wouldn't be holding rallies in NY,CA,ME,and CT.
I've heard the GOP is pissed at him for having a rally in Connecticut.

(4,033 posts)but the word is that tRump won't be attending. I guess he either doesn't feel the need to change, or knows he is incapable of change.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)the best. He is great at change, believe me. The best.
But, honestly, I think he believes he doesn't need to change. I mean, look at the crowds and their enthusiasm!

(67,807 posts)As said, the story was heard on CNN. They often come up in the google machine. Since I heard it live, I didn't chase a link.
Bookmark Larry Sabato's site (at the link, above) if you wanna see polls. You can also go to 538.com.

(9 posts)The investigative journalist Greg Palast - who exposed Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris's so called 'felon' purge of 58,000 innocent African American voters from the voting rolls in Florida in 2000 - has been working to uncover a sinister computer program that the Republican party is using in 27 states to remove millions of innocent registered voters from the voting rolls in time for this November's election.
It's called the 'Interstate Crosscheck Program'. It targets people who have the same surnames as people in other states and it designates them as suspected felons who it decides have voted twice in elections (falsely saying they voted once in one state and again in a different state in the same election). It targets African Americans, Hispanics and American Asian people many more times than others because these people share a very large number of the same surnames. The program produces a staggering number of false positive matches which are likely to result in mostly Democrat voters being removed from the voter rolls.
Palast says the number of innocent voters who may be removed from the voter rolls is approximately 7.2 million.
http://www.gregpalast.com/look-up-your-name-on-the-crosscheck-voter-purge-list/
The states that are running this voter purge computer program are:
Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts,
Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
South Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia. (And I have heard that now Montana is too).

(136 posts)STC, great news all around regarding electoral votes and down-ballot races.
I am really stoked to hear about North Carolina, especially the Senate race!
What's your source for the info on the Burr-Ross race? Electoral-vote.com still shows Burr ahead.
Thanks.

(54 posts)Not only is Donald falling behind in all of the swing states, he is also losing ground in several states that are strongholds for the GOP. At this point, unless he somehow flips several blue states, he has no shot at winning the election. I'm really looking forward to a 400+ EV landslide for Hillary.
