By Larry Rulison Updated 7:41 pm, Saturday, August 6, 2016

ROTTERDAM — State Police said they had to break into the car of a Schenectady man who became uncooperative during a traffic stop ...

Troopers .. say that when they pulled over Noel T. Parson, 27, for speeding, he refused to roll down his windows or hand over his driver's license, declaring himself a "sovereign citizen."

having to spend the night in a government run facility.

Serious question: if the fire department shows up because the house is on fire, does a sovereign citizen refuse to let them on the property?

I don't think people understand a) how ubiquitous government really is in our lives, and b) how bad things would be if it wasn't.

When a cop is pulling them over or April 15th is coming up. Otherwise, they consent to accept government, like the Tea Party guy ranting about socialistic health care and then grinning when someone compliments his scooter, "Yep, Medicare paid for it, didn't cost me a cent."
