CHARGE Donald J. Trump, 18 U.S. Code § 2381 - TREASON

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/charge-donald-j-trump-18-us-code-ss-2381-treason

Donald Trump has incited Russia to hack into and publish Hillary Clinton's private emails. The Republican presidential candidate is openly ENCOURAGING a foreign government to take illegal actions that would influence a US election. This is the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent. This has gone from being a matter of politics to being a national security issue.

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Just because "Try ___ for treason!!!!" has become the right-wing's favorite mouth fart whenever a politician doesn't agree with them, doesn't mean that we should pick up the habit.

Trump. Hasn't. Committed. Treason.

He. Has. Blown. His. Stupid. Fat. Mouth. Off.

Like. Thousands. Of. People. On. Social. Media. Every. Day.

It's a completely idiotic, irresponsible thing for a candidate to do. But it's not treason. Win the election. Make him crawl back under his rock.

Trump is guilty of many things, treason is not one of them.

or promising them influence if he becomes president in exchange for money or material support, then by all means. But let's go ahead and wait for those revelations. No need to jump the gun, and no need file charges based on bluster.

I'm sure FBI and/or CIA are looking into Trump's relationship with Russia...

"has incited Russia to hack into"

The FBI has Hillary's server that does not have the missing emails. Somebody hacked those years ago.

So Trump was not advocating Russia hack into Hillary's private emails. Trump was saying (paraphrased) "if Russia already has them, the US media would love to see them"

Hillary said the emails she deleted were not related to the State Department - they were her private emails. A lot of folks do not believe her. But Trump is basically saying "send Hillary's private emails to the US media"

Hillary's private emails should not be a big concern for the US government if she's told the truth. Obviously, it's a personal issue for Hillary's privacy. But it only gets really problematic for the country if Hillary has lied.

I can't stand Trump. I'm enjoying his campaign swirling down the toilet to the sewer where he belongs. But this one didn't jump out at me like many of the others.
