I keep hearing Manafort saying, "I've never received a single off the books cash payment..."

But he never said anything about not taking SEVERAL off the books cash payments. I don't trust that sleaze bag any farther than I could throw Trump Taj Mahal--either before or after the Orange Shitgibbon declared bankruptcy. He'd do weaselly word parsing like that--just like his boss. Wouldn't he have said ANY cash payments instead of A SINGLE cash payment if he was innocent? Maybe I'm being too nit picky. And Don the Co has the nerve to call President Obama, a man more worthwhile and decent than he could ever hope to be--pathetic. Look in the mirror, you two-bit hustler, because you are the most pathetic excuse for a human being I've ever seen.

This whole thing reeks.

1. If it is off the books cash payment, it's off the books

You only have his word that he never took anything unless there is some actual documentation forthcoming. As for his word it's not worth much IMHO.

The rich get richer because they can hide their money. There's stocks, bonds, investment income, trusts, deeds, partnerships. Maybe a nice direct transfer to his offshore account.

9. some questions for manafort:

this, from the straight dope forum:

Did you receive any payments not in cash form?

Did you receive multiple payments rather than a single payment?

Did you do work for agents representing the governments of Ukraine or Russia?

Manafort openly worked for the (then) ruling party of Ukraine, and presumably was paid for said work, so that's not really in question.

The issue here is whether he, or someone under his aegis, received off the books, cash (or other) payments. That would presumably indicate that he was providing services beyond normal campaign consulting he acknowledged.

And one suspects you don't get paid millions in physical cash, with the only record being a hand-written leger, if the payer, payee, or both aren't up to something sketchy.

not one person in the at least ten segments I saw on this today brought up any of these points

not ONE

what I saw was better than any other coverage I've seen today, and I've been specifically watching for this since 2AM this past morning

not to be missed....she starts off with a tie in to the Cuban missile crisis, then segues into manafort
