Remember the VRWC? here's where it all started, culminating in Comey:

So how did we get here? Well, at the expense of shocking you, dear reader, it all began with the New York Times--specifically with a series of much-praised articles by investigative reporter Jeff Gerth: groundbreaking, exhaustively researched, but not particularly fair or balanced stories that combine a prosecutorial bias and the art of tactical omission to insinuate all manner of sin and skulduggery.

Accompanied by a series of indignant editorials, Gerth's work helped create a full-scale media clamor last December for a special prosecutor. Testimony in recent Senate hearings showed that the Resolution Trust Corporation's Whitewater investigation began in direct response to the Times coverage; the hearings themselves resulted in large part from the Clinton Administration's panicky reaction to reporters' queries about the RTC probe, Gerth's among them.

Absent the near-talismanic role of the New York Times in American journalism, the whole complex of allegations and suspicions subsumed under the word "Whitewater" might never have made it to the front page, much less come to dominate the national political dialogue for months at a time. It is all the more disturbing, then, that most of the insinuations in Gerth's reporting are either highly implausible or demonstrably false.

sound familiar to you, Comey? it should, since you were one of the chief inquisitors; ironic to find yourself at the center of the SAME SORT of witch hunt today, the one which poses the single most direct threat to Hillary's candidacy....one in which the media once again plays their all too willing roll as credulous lapdog, laying down yet another false narrative that has, as usual, been uncritically accepted by almost everybody, including her supporters that don't know the real story behind the "scandals"

then after Fools for Scandal, Lyons got together with Joe Conason and wrote the seminal The Hunting of the President

if you really care, and have the time, you can watch these at your leisure:

I wish that some hacker would release Comey's emails now.

to admit his serial unethical behaviors

too bad it will have to wait until after the election

here:

his (Comey's) willingness to reprimand publicly a figure against whom he believes there is no basis for criminal charges should trouble anyone who believes in the rule of law and fundamental principles of fairness. Justice Department rules set clear guidelines for when it is appropriate for the government to comment about individuals involved in an ongoing investigation, which this matter was until prosecutors closed it Wednesday. Prosecutors and investigators can reassure the public that a matter is being taken seriously, and in some rare cases can provide additional information to protect public safety, such as when a suspect is loose and poses a danger.

And when the department closes an investigation, it typically does so quietly, at most noting that it has investigated the matter fully and decided not to bring charges.

These practices are important because of the role the Justice Department and FBI play in our system of justice. They are not the final adjudicators of the appropriateness of conduct for anyone they investigate. Instead, they build cases that they present in court, where their assertions are backed up by evidence that can be challenged by an opposing party and ultimately adjudicated by a judge or jury.

In a case where the government decides it will not submit its assertions to that sort of rigorous scrutiny by bringing charges, it has the responsibility to not besmirch someone’s reputation by lobbing accusations publicly instead. Prosecutors and agents have followed this precedent for years.

His FBI investigation releases pertaining to Hillary are unprecedented.

His alleged "above reproach" attitude probably has more to do with his "job" than his behavior.

Who would be comfortable poking sticks at the "F-B-I" (shades of J Edgar)?

the FBI SUMMARIES, not transcripts, or recordings, of her inquisition by the FBI

selected, edited versions, most probably, released to the likes of Gowdey, Chaffetz, and Pompeo---not to the public

dunno if Hillary gets a copy; I don't see why they would give her one, unless they have to, by law.

point is, they get to release THEIR version, in any composition they choose, and she gets no chance to counter what they dole out. you can be certain that this will be the FIRST order of business when they get back in September. they probably have already gotten 'leaked' versions. if so, THAT should be immediately investigated by some Intel agency, as the material is heavily classified

go GET em, Obama
