Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsFinally! I am able to post a photo of the 4-week old Siamese Lynx Point Kitten!
He looks very unhappy, but right now he's having a ball, playing with anything he can find in the bathroom. He started eating on his own last night, but I'm still syringe feeding him also but not as much. He enjoys that.
He still needs good thoughts and vibes. Went to the vet's again this morning because of the ticks, which were worse this morning...really small ones and just about everywhere. Gave him half a dose of Frontline since he's so small, came home and cleaned and washed everyone (including myself), let him relax in his bed of sheets and now there are lots of dead ticks on that which fell off, which is very good. So more cleaning and washing and repeat probably for a few days. I try to spend a lot of time with him because he's lonely, but I can't let the other cats near him until I'm sure the ticks are all gone...the last thing I need is ticks on the others.

(18,470 posts)My now sister in law found this little lady all by herself at the age of about two to three weeks. No sign of a mama or siblings around. My sister in law tried to find her a home with her friends but that didn't pan out. So she kept TK and rasied her into the total spoiled brat she is today.

(81,322 posts)So cute! Look at that little facey-face-face! Looking good! This amateur is willing to predict that he'll be just fine. Sounds like you're doing exactly the right things.
We've taken in some very sorry excuses for live kittens - all abandoned foundlings. Teeny, mangy, skin 'n' bone, flea-bitten, eyes all gunked up, ears all gunked up. And every one of them lived to a ripe old age. The most recent one - which the vet told us was dumped on their doorstep much too young to leave her mother - is now 17 years old, I think. She's been around so long we've forgotten how long ago we got her. She's STILL doing well. Sometimes I really do believe they have nine lives.

(78,249 posts)Substitute an orange tabby for the gray tabby in that one's family tree and that's what you get. A friend not only has one, he serves as her seizure cat! Alas, this is not him, 'cause FB pix have crappy URLs that can't be ripped down. So here's another:

(111,277 posts)Being a kitten, he's not going to be able to hold a grudge long, he'll have to start bouncing off the walls and that means he'll be looking for a playmate (you).
He's going to get a lot more active now that bugs aren't sucking his blood out of him.

(36,098 posts)I used to have a dog. Spread it all over his fur, brushed it in and he never had bug one. I highly recommend it over Frontline for your little guy.
It's great stuff in so many other ways. It's also a big secret that exterminators don't want people to know about. Finer than cornstarch, it brushes invisibly right into your carpet, floorboards, upholstered furniture, bedroom linens and elsewhere. It kills all bed bugs, and any kind of small bug by slicing their exoskeletons so their fluids dry them up into what looks like a tiny dirt ball.
I used it by door entrances in the fall, when bugs try to get in, in the backs of kitchen cupboards and drawers and everywhere else. I started with it around 2011. I can tell you I've never had a bug in my house since. I sound like an infomercial, but you should know that people all over the world take it to rid themselves of intestinal parasites, and that it's the safest organic anti- small bug killer on the market.
It's been used on skin to keep mosquitos away. But I don't use it in the garden, because birds need bugs to eat.
Hope this is helpful.

ancianita
(36,098 posts)One customer I ran across said her friend actually had a doctor recommend putting a teaspoon in her morning smoothies to get rid of parasites she picked up in Costa Rica.
I've also learned that it's used abroad for people who might pick up gastrointestinal parasites in their eating and drinking.
An older lady at the farm store I bought it at in Florida says she takes a tablespoon of it in water every other day and feels great.
I've tried it, found it's tasteless and has no ill effects, but I'm not urging anyone to eat it.
