I saw a few minutes of him, and you're right. He spent all his time warning people about Hillary the Evil One. This may seem like a non-productive campaign tactic, let alone a comprehensive campaign strategy, but disaffected people scare easily, and we have millions of disaffected citizens. They feel they missed out on something, and it's somebody's fault. It's certainly not their own fault for living beyond their means, not saving for retirement, giving their money to televangelists, etc. It must be the liberals, stealing their tax dollars for Negroes and Messkins. Yep, that's gotta be it. So Trump keeps hammering at them, and they dutifully pass the word along to their neighbors, telling them Hillary is going to have the state take away their children, teach atheism in the schools, and so on. I have actually heard these stories repeated, with lots of head nodding to indicate belief and agreement. So they are out there, the credulous, the vulnerable, the ill informed, the fearful. Most of all the fearful. And they will vote.
