About two weeks ago, my sister's cat - PufMan, had an ulcer inside his upper lip. He is now doing fine after antibiotics. He also had a pain shot. Seems some cats are prone to this. It is a virus along the line of cold sores in humans. All should be well. Polly

He was okay with that and once the pain killer kicked in he started eating on his own. Made him a little loopy and his legs would give like he'd had too much to drink

One hyper cat of mine just would not stop activity on pain pills . He kept walking side ways and into walls. We secured his area so there was not a danger, just some good laughs at his expense

I had to put down my 4 year old Tiger, cat, on the 16th of this month. he had Feline Immune Pericarditis. If you think of it have the vet give him an immune system booster. it won't hurt. it could keep the white cells at bay for awhile.

He eats a little on his own and purrs when I hold him. Mainly he sleeps but I think that's mostly from the pain shot which knocked him out. He also had pink eye. Anyone have Siamese cats? The two other Siamese kittens I took in also developed it...I wonder if the blue eyes make them susceptible. Gabe, also a lynx point, had it when I found him but his two siblings...all black...never got it from him. Thanks again.

Oriental breeds are very prone to dental problems. Other than that, they're pretty durable little buggers.

Also, don't forget he's likely a cross, not a pure Siamese, so he might even get through life with no need for oral surgery.

Likely he was exposed to a lot of nasty diseases by the rough start he got in life. Did your vet do the blood work to determine what the mouth ulcer is from? There are quite a few different causes and they all have different treatments.

Most cats are infected with it and most just get colds from it. Their variety isn't contagious to humans.

How's he doing?
