The Fact That Trump Is NOT Down In The 20"s Proves How Sick The US Is.

Trump is so bad and so evil he should only be polling in the 20's. We are so sick as a nation than ANYONE who is such a prick is even on the ticket is a disgrace to the country. Any woman, any vet, or just about anyone who votes for this creep and cretin are just plain pieces of shit.

Every day is just plain disgusting. I simply cannot stomach any coverage of Trump. The media are nothing but a bunch of corrupt sell outs.

Hillary will win Atlanta proper (but how big will Dem turnout be in Fulton/Dekalb?).
Savannah and Augusta will be interesting to watch. (Need huge black turnout there.).
The rest of Georgia is basically a redneck wasteland.

Georgia is usually one of the first states called on election night.
If it's called for Trump right when the polls close at 7eastern, it will be a typical election.
But, if they say it's "too early" to call, it will bode well for Hillary.
If they say, Georgia is "too close to call", break out the champagne.
If they call Georgia anywhere before 9pm for Hillary, go dance naked in the streets because we will win back both the the Senate and the House!

It does my heart good to see it's becoming purple. We need to keep that going.

Also, unless Trump goes up 2-3 pts nationwide (doubtful), he won't win. The ground game, mechanical advantage that Clinton holds is too pervasive and entrenched. Trump is sending mail to registered Democrats and has 1/3 of the field offices that Clinton has (and not all those are even functional, working offices). His data analytics and targeting efforts are in the Stone Age.

Yet thank god for liberals, progressives and all ,well 99.9%, PoC. We shall carry the day, barring massive voter fraud by that underbelly of racists in charge of voting, anywhere. Both sides do it. Conservatism is a mental disorder. Liberalism is a mental disorder. If each sides thinks the other is crazy, and more than that plain old stupid, people will just drift further and further apart politically.

That's what free time can do though. We can go deeper into our own abstract imaginations. We existed in small physical tribes of random chance for however much time back in the day. Today, we break down into smaller and smaller like minded tribes. Everyone has to think the same way about whatever the topic, and if you don't, you're insane, or can't be part of the group, etc.

Trump knows how to work the media, and they have been willing to oblige him at every turn. His vile and evil character notwithstanding, many perceive him as a "different type of politician", "not afraid to speak his mind", and "willing to shake things up", attributes that do not reflect on the content of his divide-and-conquer message, but merely the style. Even the style is off-putting, but the fact that so many are able to get past his demagoguery and shallow bluster is a very sad and troubling state of affairs.

many people just want lower taxes. they've been told that their only way to express that at this point is to vote for trump.
many people just want a balanced budget. they've been told that their only way to express that at this point is to vote for trump.
many people just want conservatives on the supreme court. they've been told that their only way to express that at this point is to vote for trump.

and so on with the usual generic reasons people trot out to vote for the republican ticket without giving much though as to the actual candidate.

yes, of course, we all would hope that they would say, "you know, i can still smell the stench no matter how tightly i hold my nose, so i just can't vote for trump no matter how loyal i am to the republican party."

but that's actually a rather hard thing for people to do. we've all been rather conditioned to put party before candidate, and the media really, really reinforces this. especially for republicans.

i suppose i agree with your conclusion that we've got a sickness if trump is polling over 20%, but i can't blame individuals so much as a media that long ago any sense of responsibility toward helping us pick a president based on competence rather than the ability to garner eyeballs and increase ad revenues.
