PSA to those who post only links:

I don't click on posts that show only links.
Many of us here at DU don't.
Tell us something about your subject, or post a short quote.
A post of only a link will usually sink like a stone.
Thank you.

If viewers think this aircraft looks ugly, they should see what it can do

The A-10 Thunderbolt delivers more than thunderous sounds, at a target.

It was also the first plastic model I ever assembled. It was so "modernistic", and as a big Space Cadets fan, it was the closest thing to a real space rocket that existed at the time.

Now that I'm an old fart My favorite military aircraft is the A4D Sykhawk.

But my very favorite aircraft of all is the Cessna 172, also (coincidentally) called the Skyhawk.

I know. How very boring and pedestrian an aircraft to be enamored of. But, like they say, there's no explaining love.

The same park had an old railroad steam engine and a fire truck.

That was back when dangerous playground equipment was normal.

A kid could fall off of any of those things and break a bone and nobody got sued, it was just life.

Anyways, there was enough of them that I'm sure many ended up in similar circumstances.

And a train. Lots of sharp metal everywhere, and we climbed all over them.

The plane is gone now. The train has a fence around it with signs forbidding climbing.

SO glad I grew up in those bad old days!

And frequently that poster uses the wrong words - ruining the whole attempt. It can be pretty funny sometimes.
