I went down to the break room, and the news was on. This time is was MSNBC, so I didn't change it right away. Then I realized that the woman on there was Joy Reid, whom I have heard a lot of things about here (sorry, I just refuse to watch cable news, so I have missed out). Where did she come from? She was fantastic, and wouldn't back down when the tRump surrogate was spouting crap. I cannot believe it- someone in the media called someone on their BS. I was floored. Why can we not have more like her?
Oh, that was a rhetorical question, I know why- the major corporations won't let more like her have a job.

(47,486 posts)on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She has been with MSNBC for a number of years now, but it is just recently that they have given her more air time and her own weekend show. She is excellent and a "joy" to watch. I think she may eventually end up with a weekday slot.

(31,234 posts)Brooklyn to a Congolese father & a Guyanese mother. She is first generation Congolese/Guyanese American, who took advantage of all this country has to offer. She grew up in Denver, and went on to graduate from Harvard in 1991. She's a smart cookie, and I think her parent's immigrant experience comes to mind when she meets bigoted xenophobes face-to-face.
