Man Threatens Orlando Style Massacre in Wilton Manors

The Broward County LGBT community is on edge after a Facebook post that said, "It's time to clean up Wilton Manors from all you AIDS-infested losers."

In response to the online threats, some bars in Wilton Manors, like Rumors Bar and Grill, are stepping up security with armed guards.
Police in Wilton Manors are looking into the case, taking the threats very seriously. The FBI is also possibly investigating.

"He wants to do bigger than the Orlando massacre and he wants to come down here and do it in Wilton manors," said Nick Berry, owner of Rumors Bar and Grill.
That's no exaggeration. In the Facebook threats, a man by the name of Craig Jungwirth is using someone else's photo to troll social media.

"He's talking about the gay community in a hateful way with slang terms I wouldn't even want to say on TV," Berry said.
In one of the posts, the man allegedly wrote "If you losers thought the Pulse Nightclub shooting was bad, wait 'til you see what I'm planning for Labor Day."
The threat comes on the same day new 911 calls were released from the Orlando massacre that claimed 49 lives on June 12th.

In another post, Jungwirth allegedly wrote "I'm gonna be LOLing you f***** faster than cops kill n******. It's time to clean up Wilton Manors from all you AIDS-infested losers."

Berry said he has a pending criminal complaint against Jungwirth for allegedly vandalizing Rumors Bar.
Berry claimed he's dealt with Jungwirth in the past.
Surveillance video showed what appears to be the man spray painting the bar then taking a picture of it.

"I kind of know that this guy could have it in him to do this. I believe he has some mental issues," said Berry.
Jungwirth has a lengthy criminal history which includes stalking charges.
He has a handful of restraining orders against him.

"Mentally deranged. You have to to post something like that, you have to be mentally deranged," said Berry.
Police are asking anyone else who has been threatened by Jungwirth to call them.

Facebook has since deleted his profile.

In New Orleans, it is Southern Decadence, which is a HUGE celebration and the city is packed to the gills. There are parties throughout the US in many gay bars over Labor Day. Given I have seen an uptick in threats against the GLBT community, especially gay men, in the past few months (even before Pulse), it makes me wonder how many we aren't hearing about. I won't be shocked if it happens again. Angered? Yes. Saddened? Yes, but not 'shocked.'

Will it really be bigger than Pulse? I am not sure; I doubt it.

"There are parties throughout the US in many gay bars over Labor Day."

But my exposure (?) to the gay scene has been mostly through gay friends in San Diego and Los Angeles over the years.
Maybe locale makes a difference?

TBH, I think it is mainly a Southern thing. Though there are a few pride parades in June, many in the South are held around this time because it isn't so blistering hot. Humid, yeah, but not "fry an egg on the sidewalk" hot. I am surprised to hear about LA though, I would expect they would also have big Labor Day parties (usually the "White" circuit party is big around this time). I don't know much about SD's GLBT community.

Since Monday is the day off, as opposed to a Friday, it seems many places like to have a big blow-out on Sunday, Tea time, in traditional areas. It basically is "end of the summer, Let's party!"

Next big "gay" event...Halloween.

Media companies wonder why they're going the way of the dinosaur.

No follow up. No info on the police actions against this guy.

Do some work!
