However, "to/too/two" is one my pet peeves.

Of course it could have been
"She's not strong."
"Oh yeah, she is to!"
longship
(40,416 posts)BTW, that would also be "She is, too."

The attempted intimidation of a woman turned people against him.

(2,003 posts)Lazio looked "mean" to women. Hillary, in 2000, was still perceived as a victim of her husband's transgressions. That might've have worked 16 years ago and for a Senate race. It won't work today, nor should it.
she knows how to stand up to bullies. and Trump is a bully.

(2,003 posts)She looked like she was going to cry. People felt sorry for her and Lazio would never be able to shake his "mean to women" image.
Different times back then.

I am not criticizing her at all,, and it was so long ago.. but...just my impression of that short little clip.
I rather suspect now it would be quite different.
I also have thought for a while-- what could it possibly be like for her, or anyone, to actually have to walk on stage with trump and act like he is not a laughing stock.. I felt exactly the same way when Biden had to keep a straight face with what's her name from alaska... jeesh,, the poor guy.. I would just have cracked up..
