It was an entertaining read. Strangely, an incident in Syria was the catalyst for the war in that book.

One of the first post-apocalyptic books, and probably the best. Highly recommended.

I speak as one who experienced the Cuban missile crisis firsthand. I was a child, but I was old enough to understand what was happening.

Saw your post and my first thought was no, this couldn't be about the book. But it was.

I read it as a young teen when it came out in 1959. That was the era of home bomb shelters. Have re-read it several times and it is still a good read. At the beginning Mark tells Randy something like, "The Med. It's always about the Med." And here we are more than 50 years later and it is still about the Med.

And yes, Trump is as scary as Alas, Babylon was. Thanks for the post.

It's a quite plausible scenario.

In a similar vein, try On the Beach. Good movie as well.
