... In an interview with NewsCenter 16 Superintendent Paul White explained that the ban only includes Confederate flags: "As a matter of fact, we have some American flags flying on cars and trucks this morning in our student parking lot and we're obviously very supportive of that" ...

... Superintendent White said the district received a number of complaints from students and visitors about the presence of Confederate flags on school grounds.

"It's really not the image that we want to portray as a school system in terms of being respectful of diversity and inclusion," White explained, "we got to the point where it was a determination that it was a disruption to our educational process so as a result we asked those students to remove those Confederate flags just this past week" ...
