Mormon's don't like me cause I'm AA?

According to a magazine I saw at my church..."Many, especially in the African American and Evangelical community, have serious qualms and reservations about putting someone in the highest office in the land who has been nurtured in a faith that has viewed Black people as cursed. Romney has refused to say the Mormon Church was wrong."

Much to fear about them.

My former accountant, went to direct economic matters at Temple. Salt Lake City. He handled many pro ball players etc. He would say, make up a number to every category of tax liability. Some very rich guys got away cheap, very cheap.

They also have since finding out the golden plates are fake, taken to occupying every possible low elected office, like Dems SHOULD.

Not to mention that FBI and Secret Service is crammed chock full of them. And may become mandated after the hooker incidents.

PS. forgot to mention the receipt inventing service. If needed.

PSS. Christianity STILL teaches that the Arabs are the unfortunate for Jews descendants of the progeny of the Slave Hagar. Those God told them to totally exterminate. Jews SINNED by keeping the animals, and some women and children. Instead of incinerating the entire culture. thus, the whole modern day Arab PROBLEM. We didnt kill every last thing, screwed up. NICE!

Hearing about the "curse of Cain" convinced me I wanted nothing to do with any Mormon ever.

"I would not want you to believe that we bear any animosity toward the Negro. "Darkies" are wonderful people, and they have their place in our church."
And
""The Negro cannot achieve priesthood in the Mormon Church. No consideration is being given now to changing the doctrine of the Church to permit him to attain that status."
President Joseph Fielding Smith Look magazine, 22 October 1963

Many will tell you all of that crap was in the distant past, but the priesthood teaching continued until 1978, by which time Mitt had taught that dogma at home and abroad. Mitt was 31 years of age in 78.

They were begun by a con artist, and have a bunch of ideas (like having their own planet and the magic underwear,) that make even the loonies in Christianity look half-sane.

George Carlin was 100% correct.

These are promoted (paid for) on youtube, can't get away from them. They all say 'And I'm A Mormon.'

I always despised the 'Mark of Cain' routine, but it's not exclusive to Mormons. What's the real deal?

What you think folks, are these fake?

My view ~ African American ---- the kid sounds sincere.

They may have been nice to him, they picked a great young man.

Don't know his family background but from my many years as an educator - he didn't do it just to get some money.

Someone in the church nurtured him with kindness.

Too bad that they didn't tell him how they felt about African Americans.

Maybe they cut those chapters out of their Book.

The Mormon church never admits that it's wrong about anything, can't, because that would mean God was wrong, not happening. But, they could decide that during the time between about 1830 and 1970 people of color made enough spiritual progress to move up to the Mormon priesthood, provided they are anatomically male.

Seems an even worse insult than the original, but that's just me.

The more I hear about their church the more I understand why Rmoney is the way that he is ~

I don't recall seeing any African Americans around him other then "two plants " behind him while he was talking to a tiny crowd.

Are any African Americans on his staff?

Any of his friends that are other than White?

How many of his staff members are Mormon?

Just wondering ~

an appearance in the USA several hundred years ago. "Baptizing" the dead into Mormonism.

How much money and political clout does a cult have to have before it's certified as a religion?

Either way, they could probably not pay anything because they are the 1% and Rmoney would pay any amount to do so.

If you don't want to vote for Mitt Romney at least base your decision on fact not fiction.

There are hundreds of thousands of black members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church does not keep track of people's race on their membership records so it is difficult to know exactly how many blacks are members. But from the Church's facts and statistics website there are 359,130 members in the continent of Africa of which only 57,546 are from South Africa.

http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/facts-and-statistics/country/angola/

In the United States you may be familiar with some of these names:
Gladys Knight (Singer)
Alex Boye (Singer)
Thurl Bailey (Former NBA basketball player)
Burgess Owens (Former NFL player)
Mia Love (Mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah)
Eldridge Cleaver (former Black Panther, joined the Church in 1983)

Out of the 110-140 people that attend our congregation each Sunday, 10-15 are black, some are from Africa, most are African-American.
