Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has announced that he's accepted an invitation from Hillary Clinton's campaign to sit front-row at Monday night's first general election presidential debate with Republican rival Donald Trump.
In a tweet Friday night, Cuban referred to the debate, which will be held at Hofstra University in New York, as the Humbling at Hofstra, where he expects Clinton to "overwhelm" her opponent
Cuban is a billionaire supporter of the Democratic nominee and an outspoken critic of Trump, joining those who have repeatedly called for him to release his tax returns. Last week, he offered Trump $10 million for the opportunity to interview him.

The homeless person would rather have a nice SRO room with TV and shower as opposed to being an object of stares, curiosity and misplaced pity.

........
0912: "Ladies and gentlemen, we appreciate the patience you are showing and your many calls of concern. I stress we are doing the needful. We have called the langurwallah and he will be coming today."
(You already know "langur", "wallah" means roughly "vendor". A langurwallah carries one of the larger monkeys around to scare away the macaques. That's a job here.)
........
1302: "Ladies and gentlemen, the langurwallah has arrived! He should be clearing the pool area shortly."
1320: "Ladies and gentlemen, the pool is clear. I say again the pool is clear of monkeys. (slight pause) However the monkeys still control the cabana. Please avoid the area until further notice."
.......
1442: "Ladies and gentlemen, the inconvenience has been highly regretted. Jai ho! The entire grounds are now certified as free of monkeys. Please go about your day."

(9,148 posts)Intimidation 101.
Cuban is the ONE person who Trump cannot intimidate.
He's also the one person who knows the truth about big mouth fraud Donald Trump.
And Trump knows he knows.
I may have to watch the fake debate afterall.

Mark Cuban to take his trolling of Trump to the front row of Monday's debate
"Just got a front row seat to watch @HillaryClinton overwhelm @realDonaldTrump at the "Humbling at Hofstra" on Monday," Cuban tweeted. "It Is On!"

(26,060 posts)if he's stupid enough to go there, he'll lose even more women voters. He showed zero remorse for cheating on his favorite child's mother - in fact he bragged about it - that's not going to go over well with women while he's attacking a woman who was cheated on and worked to keep her family together. It's a losing strategy for him but since I don't think much of his intellect, he may be too stupid to realize that. I sure hope so.
OnDoutside
(19,960 posts)able to manage 90 minutes of a coherent, intellectual debate, a bit of PT Barnum is not beyond possibility.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)with the other 15 opponents splitting the not-don the con voters, it really wasn't very difficult for him to win the nomination. Especially with the billions in free press the media gave him. The general electorate is an entirely different story. If he behaves with Hillary the way he did with the rest of the cons, he'll get creamed. Insults will not win him the debate or the election.
OnDoutside
(19,960 posts)last 40 years, says that he doesn't possess the ability to do a "Hillary" on this i.e. read, read, read/practice, practice, practice. That being the case, what else has he got ? He could try to bat down every serious question for 90 minutes, but imo, he doesn't have the patience to do so. If that is the case then he will have been schooled in one clear strategy of trying to unsettle her, along with a half dozen zingers to hit her with. He MIGHT not use "Crooked Hillary" but he won't be far behind.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)so I don't see him "winning" the debate the way you and I understand debates. My biggest fear is that the bar is set so incredibly low for him - if he doesn't crap on the stage or call her the C word, they'll call him the winner (or at least a tie). And blaming the media WILL work with a not unsubstantial percentage of Americans.
OnDoutside
(19,960 posts)hope Hillary will be gently pressing all his buttons, waiting for him to snap. The great thing is that there are only the two of them, so there's nowhere to hide.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)on him acting Presidential for 90 minutes. And I honestly think it was BRILLIANT to put Cuban in the front row. Donnie HATES self made billionaires - it plays into his vast insecurity of being part of the lucky sperm club. Cuban smirking every time donnie opens his mouth will push every single one of donnie's buttons. Hillary just had to do her thing - we already know she's more than qualified.

(5,734 posts)She made a terrible mistake when she was quite young and has been paying for it, over and over, and very publicly, ever since. I have seen and heard her speak, and she is a very intelligent and reasonable person. There is no way that she would, for any amount of money, do something like that.
Time for us all to put away the stones.

OnDoutside
(19,960 posts)grasp. I could just as easily have written Broaddrick/Jones/Wiley etc. The point that evidently escapes you, is that Trump could attempt to respond, in his typical fashion, by getting someone from Bill's indiscretions into those front row seats as well. Perhaps the Clinton Campaign are doing a double bluff in that regard.

(19 posts)What a great idea let's put Mark Cuban and the Khans right beside each other. One who knows how to get down in the trenches and deal with him at his own level, and the Khans who would show the complete opposite in character, dignity, and honor from the vile persona that is Donald Trump.

(1,245 posts)Cuban is not even known to be particularly left-wing, from anything I've ever read.
Nor is he some 'enemy' of Trumps, just someone (just one of MILLIONS, I might add) who doesn't think he's qualified to be President. Who happens to also be a rich dude.
There's absolutely nothing 'low', nor 'stunt-like' ... about this. Not like she invited Marla Maples (& whatever other ex-wives Drumpf has, I don't know all their names, just that one) to come rub her shoulders after each answer she gives ...
