At first I thought, Oh my god, Im so Hillary [Clinton], but I had a long political call with Caitlyn last night about why shes voting Trump. Im on the fence, she purportedly said in an excerpt posted by The Evening Standard.
After the comment went viral, a representative for Wonderland denied the Kardashian quotes appear in the published issue, or online; according to The Huffington Post, however, the quotes are legitimate. Kardashians Trump statement also still appears on the Evening Standard website.
An email to the Evening Standard was not immediately returned; the author of the Wonderland story, Eve Barlow, directed inquiries to Wonderland and representatives for Kardashian. Reps for Kardashian were not immediately available for comment.

(1,245 posts)That said, a person has to be pretty sleazy though to bath in the limelight of unbridled support from Progressives as she did for a few months there ... literally ALL the love she got when she announced her transition came from people on the Left ... then she turns around and becomes a vocal Drumpf supporter only a year later, and disses Hillary?
So, what, I guess she thinks that she has carte-blanche with us by virtue of being LGBTQ ... so now she thinks "I can be loved by EVERYONE ... if I'm right-wing trans!"
I, for one, am now pretty friggin' embarrassed about the times I argued in her defense last year ... obvious she had zero appreciation ...
And guess what Cait ... the right-wingers you're now slurping ... still f***ing HATE you.
So ... in reality ... you now have NOBODY.

(6,017 posts)Like Martine Rothblatt and a few others, she proves to the Republican parents of trans kids that being trans is not something taught or induced by, "permissive, liberal, progressive parents". Sometimes that is enough to get them to open their eyes, learn about it, and accept and support their children.

(1,245 posts)If I wasn't friggin' pissed, I'd probably concede the logic of your words ...
No doubt though when progressives come down on her over her Drumpf love, she'll claim we never REALLY supported her, it was always contingent on her 'towing the liberal line' or some shit.
Handily forgetting that NOBODY on the friggin' right had one positive word to say about her when she transitioned ... but now, she thinks they're her besties ...
Let's see how 'beloved' and 'accepted' she'll REALLY be by those she's now attempting to court favor with ... lol ... methinks she's in for some rude awakenings ...
Tell ya what, she better not expect the support of progressives again ... with BS like this ... she's on her OWN, now ... enjoy your NEW FRIENDS, Cait!

(6,017 posts)And it really *is* positive. To progressives and most trans people, she's in Trumps basket of deplorables. But to those Republican parents who are NOT conservative Christians, she and other wealthy Republican trans people are proof that if their child lives as they identify, the can still be "successful" based on the parents criteria for such. That goes a long, long way toward them accepting and supporting their trans children.
Most trans people & progressives cut Ms. Jenner loose when she first used her newfound fame to endorse Republicans who were pushing for laws like HB2. It would take years for her to regain their trust at this point.

From what imaginable venue of interest to her would she be shunned?

I'M WITH HER
A "quote" of mine was released yesterday causing my phone to blow up by friends, family and even both candidates' camps, so I want to explain the context in which I said I was "on the fence" about my vote.
There was a point when I wasn't 100% sure I was even going to vote in this election; I didn't want to vote blindly. But I also thought about how not voting would mean that I wasn't making my voice heard, so I decided to talk to my closest friends and family who I love and trust, to have an open conversation about politics.
I believe we owe it to ourselves, and to each other, to ask questions. To do our research so that we vote for the candidate who represents our own beliefs. We should start at a place of openness, receptiveness and honesty, and we should talk to those we love, trust and respect.
I had a long conversation with Caitlyn, who has always been open about her political views, and she encouraged me to do my research before making my decision and then vote for the candidate whose policies aligned with the things that matter most to me. And so that's what I did. I thought about the things that are so important to me that they outweigh everything else, such as gun control and protecting women's rights to safe and legal abortion.
I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I'm with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job. This year, I'm not just voting for myself, but also for my children, and I took that into careful consideration when I made my decision. Now that I have made my choice I want to be clear... I would never judge anyone based on their political or religious beliefs. I believe that both candidates have the intention of making the country a safer and stronger place for every American, they just have different ideas about how we get there.
God bless America for allowing us to even make these decisions there are so many in this world who are not so privileged. -- Kim
