Are Late Night Shows Saving us from Trump?

Late night comedy shows like Samantha Bee, John Oliver, etc. may be the key to saving our democracy from Trump. They are the masters of ridicule and they were able to use their pulpit to target the ridicule exactly where is belongs, on Trump and the Media.
Especially Samantha Bee's take down of the false equivalency in the news of Trump in Clinton. I noticed a decisive change in the coverage of the candidates. It could be a coincidence?

saying something like shame on you media, I report more news than you do, and I appear on a network with a talking dog.

As good as these shows are, their audience is made up of people who already agree with them.

his openings and when he is at desk before guest go on stage . Last night he did close to 10 minutes going scorching Gary Johnson ...... he did good job , used media clips also . Colbert scorches Don all the time , his show was live after the debate it was good he even made reference of the sniffing .

They have all been doing great job
