Facebook post from a non-political type - 'my skin ... my d**k ... my god'

Just saw this this morning from a friend who usually shies away from politics. Father of a girl who's a friend of my daughter. Wow.

If you disagree with economics, fine. Same goes for immigration, gun reform, military spending, government programs or foreign policy. But Defending trump at this point??? Reeeeeeallly??? So, I've heard that the defense is that because he is an alpha male he can't help himself. You're telling me that because of that he can talk however he wants to whomever he wants, huh? Is that it? He's no Washington insider, so he doesn't play by the rules - right? Is that your take? He is a nominee for the president of the United States. The only people left standing in his corner are the brah-est of the brahs who consider a woman nothing more than a sex doll with a pulse. So feminazis are the only one that care. Really? Turn on Fox News and take your notes on the bullshit they are peddling. "It's a huge conspiracy against trump." "We've all said simple things that we didn't mean to." "Bill Clinton did way worse things." Yeah, but if those things came out before he was elected, my guess is you would not have voted for him. If women aren't equal to men, just say so. Don't be a little boy - be a man and own up to your beliefs. You think women are less than you? You think immigrants are less than you? You think people from the Middle East are less than you? Fine, you're entitled to your beliefs. If they are worth anything to you, you won't have to dress them up and disguise them anymore. Come right out and say it - 'if you don't have my skin, my dick and my god, you are less than me'. Just be clear so the rest of us know exactly who the hell were dealing with. Defending fucking Donald Trump. Are you kidding me?

He bullied the Bushes, he bullied women, he bullied his employees, he bullied Ted Cruz, and everyone has just rolled over for him, let him do whatever he wants. He seems to have bullied even the truth into submission. Until now.

Only Hillary stopped this rampaging fascist fucker.

Gee, didn't Monica come onto Bill? True, he made a huge mistake by allowing things to happen between them, but his actions pale in comparison to trump. I DARE Donnie to bring up Bill in the debate, I have no doubt Hillary will be fully prepared.

My husband, a lifelong Democrat, stunned me this election season by professing he's a Trump supporter. We have had many vicious arguments over this and the D-word (divorce) has been mentioned many times - by me. His answer is, "I can't believe you want to get a divorce over politics." I've heard friends and family say things to the effect that people shouldn't be letting politics ruin friendships. I disagree. I'm not "letting" politics ruin my marriage. My marriage is ruined because my husband's true beliefs are being exposed. I'm realizing that my marriage was always ruined. I just didn't know it.

I'm disgusted and disappointed that my husband is what he is, not that this ugly election season exposed it. How do I get past that? Racism is a deal breaker for me. Bigotry is a deal breaker for me. Xenophobia is a deal breaker for me. Misogyny is a deal breaker for me.

The core being of Donald Trump is a deal breaker for me. I've heard people say that they don't like those things about him, "but he's going to fix the economy." What??????? How can they get past these ugly traits that Donald Trump has unless they also have at least some of these ugly traits? Donald Trump is all of those ugly things that I previously mentioned, but they think he's got their interests at heart and is going to do wonderful things for them. Never mind the FACT that he is NOT the business man that they have been duped into believing he is. Donald Trump is a racist, a bigot, a xenophobe, a misogynist and of course also a LIAR. And people who believe he isn't are being stupid. Period.

Rorey, I really feel for you. I've asked the same questions about how anyone can base a marriage on wildly different values.

Reactions to Trump, more than any other candidate for any party, reveals our fundamental character. Can you put country before party? Does the lure of power justify the means? Do you repudiate racism? Do you recognize the toxic effect of fear-mongering? Is your idea of an "alpha male" based on bluster, false courage and lies?

I couldn't live with someone who was unable to see through Trump's façade, or who could and liked what they saw.

It's reasonable for people to be upset with the status quo. It's reasonable to take a look at an outsider who doesn't "play by the rules". But now that we've seen exactly who this outsider is, a moral degenerate and a hatefilled monster, it's time to make the call and vote for the one who has lived a life of responsibility and compassion, even if she has been imperfect and in power for a long time.

I have always rejected the idea that letting politics get in the way of relationships is somehow unreasonable. As if who and what we support politically does not say a lot about us as people.

One of my sisters announced on facebook, "I am a staunch Republican, but we just don't talk politics. Don't let it interfere with your relationship." This was in trying to convince my mom's brother to mend fences with my mom. He is also a "staunch republican," constantly posting the vilest, stupidest anti-Obama rhetoric to which my mom will object.

I'm not on facebook, in large part because I can't stand to see all the RW shit posted there, but my mom tells me about incidents like this.

While I stay distantly friendly with my sister and, even more distantly, my uncle, I simply am not able to be close with them. They support candidates who openly proclaim their intention to pass laws that will discriminate against, humiliate, disenfranchise, and impoverish people they see as unworthy of better treatment.

It is not a small matter. I have more than enough friends and relative who do not endorse such things. I simply don't need the others to be a large part of my life.

I do not envy you having to figure out how to handle this revelation about your husband.

I am actually not sure how I can avoid telling my dad just how disturbed I would be to know he was voting for Trump. But, my dad has always been a creep and we are not close.

Impeaching Clinton for taking a quick sex break just came home to roost for the Republicans, and they so deserve to be in this position, grabbed by their genitals by their own nominee.
