I'm 68 and I've been part and parcel of the women's movement from the time it started. For decades women made huge inroads into being treated as equals in all aspect of our lives. But during this Century I've seen a backlash from men of the ilk of Mike Pence and Paul Ryan that has actually allowed people like Donald Trump get momentum and acceptability for his hateful misogyny. They've made it possible for the truly ugly underside of our society to again become acceptable the way it was in my youth.

I knew men just like Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
