In A Way I Feel Sad For Melania.

All things aside what a sad situation for Melania. She must feel betrayed and even traumatized by this public mess. She is trapped in a situation that she walked into a long time ago. She is in a no win situation. She catches hell whether she leaves or stays. Trump loyalists will vilify her for not standing by her man if she leaves. And she would still have the Donald to deal with. If she stays it is continual humiliation.

with only her son, who she knows will soon become Trump's next brainwash subject.

She may have gone in this with her eyes wide open, but I sincerely doubt she really knew all of what she was in for.

She's got to be feeling like a prisoner.

She's only a bird in a gilded cage,
A beautiful sight to see,
You may think she's happy and free from care,
She's not, though she seems to be,
'Tis sad when you think of her wasted life,
For youth cannot mate with age,
And her beauty was sold,
For an old man's gold,
She's a bird in a gilded cage.

Unless you are totally into money, there are way too many negatives. And she has to know that, based on his history, he is soon going to decide she is too old to keep around.

Dating kinda' late in life here but....

I learned a lot in recent years about the old saying that many a gorgeous gal went for the meathead jock, the bully, the manipulator and rich guy in high society but it wasn't always due to money. These divorced gals now lament how they could have stayed with these losers for so long who abused, verbally or mentally, sometimes both, banged them, impregnated them, took them for granted, never loved the kids and at the very end, divorced them, took them to the cleaners and left her with his evil spawn!

I'm sympathetic but only to a point. These were the glamor girls we all drooled over in HS, college, whatever but could not fathom how they missed entirely the cruelty, selfishness and worse traits the men they chased and wanted to mate with had. And we gentleman have all this this sad spectacle before where a real man would have provided love, support, encouragement and more as I did with my late wife. Too late many of these women still 'fall' for the same bad-boy image, re-marry way too soon and once again get taken to the cleaners. Sad but true!

Melania gained entry to a degree course in Slovenia, which is not exactly a third world country. Had she applied herself, she could have had a respected and lucrative career in architecture.

What did Melania choose instead? The tenous existence of a model in a foreign country. A job that only lasts as long as her looks. She chose her path, no one else did it for her. No sympathy from me.

Obviously she married him for the money -- he certainly wasn't studly by the time she ran across him.
No doubt there is a strong pre-nup in place -- and there is about 12 years of marriage and a kid.
I secretly think she tells Barron stuff in Slovenian.
This whole campaign must be like living through Bluebeard's Castle for her -- how could she (or Ivanka, for that matter) have known the extent of his macro sleazy-ness? The doors with their horrible ghosts just keep opening.
I also wonder if on some level she welcomes his adventures outside of the marriage because then it keeps him (ahem) off her back.

The poor guy is busy invading the Crimea, propping up a proxy in Syria, threatening the Baltics, rigging the US election, all on top of dictating his own country! Now his carefully cultivated candidate that he's invested decades in is blowing up! Putie must be suffering from sleep deprivation from trying to stay on top of all this.

who got divorced from his wife because he was cheating on her with his second wife. Maples dumped him, mainly because of all the sleeping around he did when they were married. What the hell did she expect- that he really loved her? She married him for money, and should have known what was coming.
