I think if Trump is forced to drop-out or convinced to withdraw that they will rebel and maybe not vote. It will be spun as a CT of some sort. Maybe.

That's what I fear most - Trump somehow off the ticket through some arcane process beyond my imagining and someone like Ryan and Pence managing to be put forward as the candidate(s). More normal Repugs would jump at a chance to vote for them and then who the hell knows?
