Let me try to explain more precisely: I am certain that the person who used the statement in your OP to argue that what Trump said is a private matter for him alone does not believe that Bill Clinton's private affairs are a matter for him alone.

All people who have done any negotiations you try for the best but privately you know you will have to make concessions. There is no my way or the highway in most negotiations. From what I read the statement was in line with that.

The difference is that a true professional knows how to keep the private face private and not to bring shame to his clients and associates.

A professional who can't keep his own secrets has no business safeguarding his clients' secrets.
